LAMPSHADE WORKSHOP 2024
Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th September 2024 (Two Days)
We are delighted to welcome back Aimee Payton for two days of meditative stitching to create your own gorgeous lampshade for your home.
Join Aimee on this two day course to learn all of the steps to cut, fit and hand sew a tailored shade in the grounds of the beautiful Bowood House & Gardens. Aimee has lots of beautiful fabric for you to choose from but please feel free to bring your own as well and she can see if it will be suitable. If you have a specific project in mind please email her on aimee_payton@yahoo.co.uk.
ON THE DAY

You will learn how to prepare the frame.

You will cut, fit and stitch using traditional techniques.

You will create a balloon lining.

Your shade will be finished with a handstitched bias edge.
All materials are included and your fee includes entrance to Bowood House and Gardens and you are welcome to wander the grounds during your lunchbreak or after the course has finished. Please note Bowood House & Gardens closes at 5:30pm, last Admissions at 4:30pm.. Lunch is not included but you will be entitled to a discount in the café.
Lampshade making can be fiddly and hard on your hands. Please consider this if you have any issues with your hands and wrists.
Course fee: £240.00 per person

10:00 – Introduction to Topic
11:00 – Practical Session starts
13:00 – Lunch Break
14:00 – Practical Session recommences
16:30 - Course completes, and guests depart
(Tea/Coffee breaks included where appropriate)
